Why should I hire you?
I want to make you happy. I believe that you should look—and most importantly—feel your best at all times. Read the ‘about’ page to understand my philosophies and make sure they align with your own. Most importantly, look at the examples of my work. At the end of the day, there are a lot of talented makeup artists out there, but you need to make sure that your personality is compatible with mine, and that you feel comfortable. Please don’t hesitate to call me and speak with me directly, or I can always do a trial run before you commit so you can get to know me and my skills in person!
How do I book your services? Do you require a deposit?
Yes, I do require a non-refundable $100 deposit to secure your date/my services. This will be deducted from the overall amount. Please note that bookings aren’t confirmed until I receive a copy of your signed contract and the deposit, and that inquiries are only valid for 10 days from initial contact.
Do you do bride only bookings?
Yes, I do!
What if I need to cancel my booking/contract?
I require a 60 day, written notice of cancellation prior to event date. Otherwise, you will be subject to a cancellation fee equal to the full amount of the signed and executed contract.
Do you also offer traditional makeup application?
Yes, however, there is no difference in price.
How long will it take to do everyone?
I spend about 35-40 minutes on maids and moms, and an hour on the bride.
What products do you use?
I don’t limit my kit to one particular makeup brand, as they are always changing and improving. As an example, I stick to high-quality brands such as Dior, Urban Decay, Chanel and more.
Why do you use Temptu Airbrush Makeup?
Well, because it makes your skin look amazing—natural and flawless at the same time! It’s sweat-proof and fade-proof for up to 18 HOURS, not to mention breathable and light (a big misconception is that it’s heavy). Here’s how Temptu describes it: “The natural properties of silicone impart a soft-focus effect that radiates a healthy and youthful glow on any skin type.”
How far in advance should clients book your services?
It’s best to book my services a year in advance, or at least 6 months in advance. I am especially busy May through October, so please keep that in mind.
I am not sure how I want my makeup to look, how can I make sure it’s what I want?
I highly recommend a trial run because it’s very important for this reason. Please come to your trial with photos of yourself when you liked your makeup best, or photos from magazines, etc.
What is your makeup style?
My style is definitely more editorial...meaning, it's clean, it's fresh, and it and enhances your natural beauty. At the same time, what I pride myself in is the ability to amp this up with a touch of glam. After all, it's a celebration anytime you get your makeup done, right? Whether that's a special event or your wedding day!
May I do a trial run before I commit?
Yes—schedule one with me as soon as you’d like. Please just keep in mind that I cannot hold a date without the contract and deposit.
Is gratuity included in pricing?
My price list does not include gratuity. This is something that is at your own discretion.
Do you also do hair?
No, but I know several stylists that I can highly recommend to you!
What should I choose, airbrush foundation or traditional foundation?
The right application for your needs and the look you are after is the most important thing to consider. Basically, both methods will yield the results you want, it just depends on the results you want! We can discuss the merits of both styles of foundation application. Ultimately, because of the way I apply the makeup—using high quality products, primer, concealers, and finishing sprays—both methods will work wonderfully on your big day!
Do you want something really light/a more natural coverage?
Airbrush makeup is a very fine product. Because it is so fine, it really works best on skin that is in great condition because it should not be applied heavily. It is a very natural approach to foundation, and it is not to be confused with ‘airbrushing’ in Photoshop! One of the reasons that there are so many misconceptions about airbrush makeup out there and it ‘cracking’ is because you need to apply it correctly (you cannot just continue to spray it on the face over and over as it’s not meant to be ‘buildable,’ which means that you cannot keep layering it). In fact, it should really be applied more as a concealer than an all-over the face foundation like traditional foundation is.
Do you prefer a heavier coverage?
Are you generally just someone that likes the look of a matte face? Do you struggle with acne, dark spots, or really just want that extra coverage? These are a few of the reasons you may want a traditional foundation application as opposed to airbrush. Traditional foundation has a richer coverage/is more opaque. This is not to say that you cannot still have a more natural look, however, as traditional foundation can range from sheer to heavy, since it is a ‘buildable’ product (you can keep layering the product to achieve more coverage).
What is the experience like? Why do I need a professional makeup artist?
It’s your big day. The last thing you want to deal with is nerves and worrying about how you’ll look, and that’s where I come in: one of the main advantages in hiring a makeup artist is that not only do we pamper you, but we make things easy and stress-free for you. I know what colors to use, how to make your skin look flawless (both in person and in photos), and how to make it last all day.
And, I believe in the power of listening to you! While I'll use my expertise and knowledge, it’s truly your day and I'm here to ensure you feel confident and look beautiful (and most importantly, like yourself).
